MARCH 23, 2009 -- Alliance Fiber Optic Products (AFOP) Inc. (search Lightwave for AFOP), a supplier of fiber-optic components, subsystems, and integrated modules for optical network equipment, has released the new iClVOA line.
Featuring an internal compensation (iC) controller, the company says the patent-pending iClVOAs provide stability, reliability, and accuracy and provides an I2C digital interface. According to AFOP, the new VOA technology provides "superior" wavelength-dependent loss (WDL) and polarization-dependent loss (PDL) performance over a broader wavelength and temperature range, an improvement over other VOA offerings. The company says the devices eliminate complicated device integration and achieve significant savings in applications that require a modular, high-performance VOA.
The devices are customizable to various packaging and connector options.
AFOP will be showcasing its products at OFC/NFOEC Booth #2339 in San Diego, CA, from March 24-26.
