The LCM-10 provides layer thickness control of coatings for the 1.5-µm telecomm band. The system consists of three rackmount units, occupying a total height of 13.75 in. Kits containing all of the optical and fiber components, including mounting hardware, are available for most commercial coaters. Major features include an effective measurement bandwidth < 10 GHz (variable), wavelength range of 1510 to 1580 nm, high precision of ±0.1% DT/T (10 s, before signal processing), and response time with >2-Hz update rate. Systems can be customized to meet nonstandard requirements.
