WDM modules feature insertion loss as low as 0.8 dB, power handling of 2 W, return losses of -40, -50, or -60 dB, a wavelength range of 400 to 1650 nm, polarization extinction ratios of 20, 25, and 30 dB, and a temperature range from -20°C to 60°C. Different fiber types can be used on the input and output ends, for use in fiber amplifier applications when the erbium-doped fibers have different core diameters and numerical apertures.
