Ultrastable gratings with no cladding-mode loss are used for DWDM applications at 100-GHz spacing. Available for 16 ITU grid wavelengths in the red band, the gratings have a best-case center wavelength stability of 11 PM over 0∞C-80∞C. Temperature compensation and tuning of the center wavelength are separated.
