Digiweb taps Transmode, Overture Networks for Dublin network

FEBRUARY 21, 2007 -- The joint Transmode/Overture network provides Digiweb with a new Ethernet-over-WDM backbone network and Ethernet-over-fiber/copper access network to support growing demand for Digiweb's business-to-business and consumer ISP services.

FEBRUARY 21, 2007 -- Transmode (search for Transmode) and Overture Networks (search for Overture Networks) today announced that leading Irish ISP, Digiweb, has deployed an advanced Ethernet over Optical network within its Dublin Metro network.
 
The joint Transmode/Overture network provides Digiweb with a new Ethernet-over-WDM backbone network and Ethernet-over-fiber/copper access network to support growing demand for Digiweb's business-to-business and consumer ISP services.
 
The joint solution was provided by local partner and integrator, the Dublin-based Next Generation Networks. Utilizing Overture Networks ISG 2200 nodes, Digiweb now can extend its Ethernet-based service offerings over off-net E1 connections, in addition to direct 10/100 BaseT connections. The Transmode TM-Series nodes, meanwhile, provide Digiweb with a simple to use, scalable, and flexible WDM backbone network, say Transmode representatives.
