3 September 2003 Pittsburgh, PA Lightwave--Service-edge router provider Laurel Networks today announced that DACOM, one of the leading service providers in South Korea, has selected the ST200 to deliver scalable, QoS-enabled Layer 2 and IP VPN services from the edge of its network.
The ST200 allows DACOM to extend its ATM service across its metropolitan Ethernet access network without sacrificing the high QoS of its existing offering. DACOM is also introducing next-generation Ethernet services delivered with QoS characteristics via the ST200. At the same time, the ST200 will enable DACOM to offer new, scalable IP VPN services without the use of additional devices.
The ST200 supports Layer 2 and IP-based services on a single device. This provides a key advantage to DACOM since fewer devices are required and more services are supported per customer, with the additional flexibility to software-configure new services and speeds as customer needs change.
