TouchAmerica, the long-haul broadband information transport subsidiary of The Montana Power Company (NYSE: MTP), announced it has a total of six new or expanded offices in Southern California, Arizona, and New Mexico offering customers the most cost-effective, high-speed, secure services for transmitting data, voice and video.
TouchAmerica's new offices are located in Glendale, Costa Mesa and San Diego, California, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Expanded offices are in Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona.
TouchAmerica's new-generation high-speed, broadband fiber-optic network is planned to reach 26,000 route miles this year. The telecommunications company offers high-speed access to the Internet, a full line of long-distance services, and dedicated voice, data, video, and network services, such as frame relay, ATM, and private line solutions.
With the divestiture of Montana Power's energy companies targeted for mid-year, TouchAmerica will become a stand-alone telecommunications company, trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol TAA.
