Sprint Corp., Kansas City, MO, has selected the HP Internet Advisor from Hewlett-Packard Co., Palo Alto, CA, to support installation and maintenance of its atm customer services. Sprint says the HP equipment bought under a $1.5 million contract will be used by Sprint systems engineers in eight regions throughout the United States for network testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting of customer premises and edge networks. The Internet Advisor can test atm services across DS-3 (44.736-Mbit/sec), OC-3c (155-Mbit/sec), and T1 (1.554-Mbit/sec) connections. HP will also provide quality of service, local area network connection and remote-testing solutions, and technical training.
