If you’re interested in joining the agenda for The Ethernet Alliance’s upcoming Technology Exploration Forum on “The Future of Ethernet” you’d better get creative quickly – the deadline to submit proposals is just days away.
The Ethernet Alliance has already announced the keynote and a featured speaker for the latest in its Forum series, which the non-profit industry consortium dedicated to Ethernet’s advancement will host this October 15 in at Techmart in Santa Clara, CA. Dr. Robert Metcalfe, who invented Ethernet 40 years ago this year, will offer the keynote address. Nan Chen, founding president on the Metro Ethernet Forum and co-founder of Carrier Ethernet exchange CENX, will serve as featured speaker.
The Alliance seeks to round out the day with panels and presentations on where Ethernet is headed. The group’s website lists the following as topics of potential interest:

Proposals are due July 26 and can be emailed to [email protected]. The one-page proposals should include:
- Title (not more than 5 or 6 words)
- Photograph of Presenter
- Abstract
- Short biography of the presenter and contact information (job title, address, telephone, email)
- Brief description of the presenters’ organization.
