May 21, 2001--The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) has published a new standard: "FOCIS 12 Fiber Optic Connector Intermateability Standard Type MT-RJ," TIA/EIA-604-12.

The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) has published a new standard: "FOCIS 12 Fiber Optic Connector Intermateability Standard Type MT-RJ," TIA/EIA-604-12.

The purpose of the document is to present the intermateability standard for connectors with the commercial designation of MT-RJ. TIA/EIA-604-12 is also used as an addendum to TIA/EIA-604, "Fiber Optic Intermateability Standards." The provisions of TIA/EIA-604 apply to this new standard.

Intermateability standards define the minimum physical attributes of mating connector components. Fully dimensioned components are not within the scope of FOCIS 12.

TIA/EIA-604-12 was created by TIA FO-6.3.4 Working Group of the FO-6.3 Subcommittee on Fiber Optic Interconnecting Devices. To obtain copies of the document, please contact Global Engineering Documents at http://global.his.com.
