Billion Electric Co., Ltd. has selected the Helios embedded processor line from BroadLight, a supplier of fiber access processors, in the development of its new Active Ethernet carrier-class router product.
Billion’s new Active Ethernet Router, designed with Helios processors, are designed to deliver carrier-class performance in a low-cost design that meets carrier high-performance service requirements.
Using BroadLight’s gateway processor performance and unified software platform, Billion can roll out different models of the BiPAC 9300 gateway series, enabling quick, seamless competitive and short product turnaround, says a spokesperson.
“We have a successful track record with BroadLight’s GPON technology and we are happy to expand our designs with their new Helios product line,” says Tim Chen, chairman and CEO of Billion.
BroadLight’s Helios product line will be on display later this month at CommunicAsia 2011, booth 1B5-02 in Singapore on June 21- 24.
