ProLabs says it will launch a line of Green transceivers at ECOC 2017 next week in Gothenburg, Sweden. According to ProLabs, the advanced technologies used by the Green transceivers line results in 30% less power consumed than standard transceivers, without compromising performance.

ProLabs assert its Green transceivers feature the application of optical waveguide technology to achieve relevant efficiencies for customer applications. The QSFP28-100G-SR4 package will be the initial launch within the Green line.

ProLabs launch of its Green transceivers line follows the introduction of its High Density CWDM optical transceivers line earlier this year at the UTC Telecom and Technology Expo (see "ProLabs to unveil High Density CWDM optical transceivers"). ProLabs will showcase a portfolio of products that enable customers to use one provider for all optical connectivity, including more than 8,000 optical transceivers, from 100 Mbps to 100 Gbps, to service data rates, wavelengths, and OEM vendors at ECOC (September 17 – 21, Gothenburg, Sweden, Booth #175).
