Sonet/atm transport element

The Cellworx service transport node, a hybrid Sonet/sdh transport element, lets carriers leverage existing network infra-structures for the delivery of high-bandwidth services to their customers. The unit provides a 10-Gbit/sec cell-switching capacity on an OC-12c or OC-48c Sonet ring. It can be deployed throughout the network for inter-switch trunking, feeder-plant distribution, and as an access hub for local-loop distribution. Carriers can configure the system as an atm service access multiplexer for customer-to-network access or as a digital subscriber-line access multiplexer for Internet access via adsl or hdsl loop technologies.
