Distributed-feedback laser

Distributed-feedback semiconductor laser serves fiber-optic transmission systems operating in the 1550-nm wavelength range. Low relative intensity noise and narrow linewidth allow the laser to transmit over longer distances, without additional amplification. The 30-mW laser supports continuous-wave operation with modulation supplied by an external modulator. It comes in a 14-pin butterfly package with polarization-maintaining singlemode fiber, an optical isolator and thermoelectric cooler.
