Sonet transmitters and receivers

Series MF-2500DS integrated Sonet transmitters and receivers are used for 2.5-Gbit/sec transmission. The series includes three transmitters and two receivers and serves metropolitan area network applications. Transmitter options include an integrated electro-absorption modulator laser diode for high optical output power, and a 1550-nm wavelength version to be used with an erbium-doped fiber amplifier. Prices range from $6000 to $16,000.
