MODULATOR DRIVER

April 1, 2000

Differential drivers for high-speed fiberoptic communications drive external modulators such as lithium-niobate, electro-absorption, and III-V Mach-Zehnder devices at 3 or 5 V and 10 Gbit/s. They operate from two dc supply rails and use a voltage-controlled output amplitude, with a monitor pin providing feedback.
