Small-form transceivers

The HP fiber-optic mt-rj transceivers--at about half the width of the SC-duplex interface--help increase port density. The transceivers use an RJ-45-style connector to achieve the same port spacing as copper-cabling systems. Available in a 2 ¥ 5 multisource small-form-factor package for applications including Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, atm, sonet/sdh, and Fibre Channel, the devices support multimode and singlemode operation with 850-nm vcsels, 1300-nm leds, and 1300-nm Fabry-Perot lasers. They operate at speeds from 100 Mbits/sec to 1.25 Gbits/sec.
