EXFO releases ECL module optimized for CWDM testing
17 September 2003 Quebec City Lightwave -- EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. announced today the release of the IQS-2700 Tunable External Cavity Laser (ECL) for optical system and component testing applications.
The IQS-2700 Tunable ECL, housed inside the company's IQS-500 Intelligent Test System, is the highest performance, small form factor tunable laser source module on the market, say EXFO representatives. It is available in three different configurations, including an S+C+L-band (1460- to 1625-nm) model optimized for coarse WDM (CWDM) and fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) testing. Other configurations are designed for the C+L bands (1525- to 1625-nm) and E+S bands (1425- to 1525-nm).The C+L-band laser has a high-power output, essential for amplifier and network element testing, while the other two models come with a low-noise power output, ideal for both stopband and passband filter characterization. "Our high-end tunable ECL provides customers with the best of both worlds for their various test applications," contends tienne vice president of product management, Optical Solutions and Communications. "The broad wavelength range offered by this two-slot module represents a cost-effective solution for system and component testing without sacrificing performance," he adds. The IQS-2700 Tunable ECL is available in three configurations.
