SEPTEMBER 24, 2008 -- Santec (search for Santec), designer and manufacturer of fiber-optic components, sub-systems, and optical instruments, this week announced the release of a tunable notch filter that allows both wavelength tuning and bandwidth variability simultaneously and independently.
According to the company, a unique mirror design and accurate tuning mechanism achieves excellent optical properties and filter profiles suitable for 40 Gbits/sec and above transmission testing, noise filtering, pulse shaping, and all-optical wavelength conversion applications.
The OTF-960 features a notch-type filter that is continuously tunable over either the C- or L-band. The bandwidth is independently adjustable from 0.18- to 6.0-nm (22.5- to 750-GHz).
The product will has been displayed at the ECOC 2008 exhibition, held this week at
the Brussels Expo Centre in Belgium.
