CMOS Gigabit Ethernet transceiver

The S2060 CMOS-fabricated transmitter and receiver chip is used for high-speed data transmission in Gigabit Ethernet applications. The chip operates at 1.25-Gbits/sec in conformance with the IEEE 802.3z Gigabit Ethernet specification. This single-port transceiver is drop-in and pin-to-pin industry-compatible with the company`s bipolar-fabricated S2052 dual-frequency chip for Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel applications. According to the manufacturer, the component offers superior jitter parameters and a compact package outline. The chip is suitable for use in Gigabit Ethernet, serial backplanes, and proprietary point-to-point links.
