EDFA optical switch

The 1550-nm all-fiber, low-loss edfa optical switch constantly monitors optical signals on two input fibers. It senses signal degradation or loss and can automatically switch optical paths based on the conditions of these inputs. Applications include redundant fiber routing, self-healing rings, optical-amplifier redundancy, and hot standby transmitter sites.
