Wideband limiting amplifier

The ala90000 is a monolithic limiting amplifier for use in Y OC-192 and sdh stm-64 receiver applications. The device is a three-stage, DC-coupled, differential amplifier IC, which replaces a multistage discrete amplifier solution typically needed after transimpedance amplifiers or pin amplifiers in oc-192/ stm-64 receiver applications. The amplifier has a signal gain of 25 dB, input sensitivity of 7mV (differential), and an output drive (Vout, p-p) of 700mV into 50 ohms. It operates from a 5V power supply, offers 3-dB bandwidth of 7 GHz, and rise and fall times of 50 psec. Sold in die form, the unit is available for $300 in quantities of 1000.
