Summary

With the data center interconnect market growing at 40% or more, DCI remains the fastest growing part of the optical network. While AI is putting pressure on optical transport networks, the power and space intensity of the enhanced computing infrastructure underpinning AI is resulting in modular distributed data centers being deployed in more diverse locations than ever before.  While bandwidth is growing rapidly, increases in total fiber capacity have largely plateaued.  So, where do we go from here?

In this webinar, we’ll examine the optical networking opportunities and challenges shaping the next generation of DCI and AI data center connectivity including:

·     Data center needs and priorities

·     Connectivity delivery and operationalization

·     Evolutions and deployment considerations for spectrum expansion and multi-fiber utilization

·     Evolutions in optical line systems including multi-rail (multi-fiber) solutions

·     Evolutions in optical engines including efficient engines that maximize fiber capacity

·     The impact of 400ZR/ZR+, 800ZR/ZR+, OpenZR+, and emerging 1.6T coherent optics on traditional DCI and scale-across networks

·     The role of OpenROADM, IP-over-DWDM and router-hosted coherent optics in simplifying DCI architectures

·     Network performance (SLA or verification) and latency challenges across hybrid Metro/long-haul cloud environments

·     New fiber technologies including multi-core and hollow core

Moderated by Sean Buckley, editor in chief of Lightwave, this webinar will feature three optical industry leaders whose companies are actively pursuing, deploying and operationalizing DCI opportunities:

  • Suzie O’Meara, VP, business operations at Midco
  • Tim Doiron, VP, solution marketing at Nokia
  • Daniel Gonzalez, senior manager and field application engineer at Anritsu
