SEPTEMBER 9, 2008 -- EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. (search for EXFO) has released new software features on the InterWatch R14 platform, an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)/Next-Generation Network (NGN) test platform.
Release 7.2 on the InterWatch R14 platform simulates up to 256,000 unique IPv6 subscriber addresses per chassis to support the migration of voice and video applications to the IPv6 addressing scheme. In addition to IPv6, this new software release expands EXFO's list of supported codecs to include the Enhanced Variable Rate Codec (EVRC) family used in CDMA networks, as well as Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Internet Key Exchange version 1 protocol (IKEv1) for security testing.
EVRC support includes EVRC, EVRC0, EVRC1, EVRCB, EVRCB0, and EVRCB1 in full and fractional modes and with or without silence suppression. The addition of IKEv1 key exchange protocol expands EXFO's security and authentication capability to include IPsec tunnel mode.
Finally, Release 7.2 adds DHCP support to EXFO's Border Gateway Function (BGF) test application, thereby improving its test capability for BGF devices with integrated subscriber management.
