EXFO signs exclusive OEM agreement with BRIDGE Technologies for IP video service assurance

June 15, 2009
JUNE 15, 2009 -- EXFO now becomes BRIDGE's exclusive triple-play service assurance partner and will integrate BRIDGE's line of IP video analysis, measurement, and monitoring products into its BrixVision IPTV service assurance system.

JUNE 15, 2009 -- EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. (search Lightwave for EXFO) says it has signed an original equipment manufacturing (OEM) agreement with BRIDGE Technologies of Oslo, Norway. BRIDGE is a provider of video quality monitoring products. Thanks to the agreement, EXFO now becomes BRIDGE's exclusive triple-play service assurance partner and will integrate BRIDGE's line of IP video analysis, measurement, and monitoring products into its BrixVision IPTV service assurance system. Also, the companies will jointly develop and promote new technologies for end-to-end video quality monitoring targeted to telcos, multiple-service operators (MSOs), and satellite network operators.

EXFO says that ensuring high-quality IP-based triple-play services requires 24/7 monitoring that provides a complete picture of service quality across the network and helps providers troubleshoot issues before customers are affected or before truck rolls are required. A comprehensive service assurance approach helps reduce churn, increase customer satisfaction and provide a decided competitive advantage, the company adds.

The BRIDGE Technologies video monitoring and measurement probes will be integrated into EXFO's Brix System, a strategic active and passive service assurance platform for IP service and application quality. As part of the Brix System, EXFO asserts the BRIDGE Technologies products will help the company deliver the most complete offering for end-to-end IP video service assurance for all types of IP video, including IPTV, streaming video, and over-the-top video, offering telcos and MSOs one system for assuring the quality of all triple-play services.
