OCTOBER 11, 2010 -- TraceSpan Communications, which provides broadband analysis and monitoring products, and test automation vendor QualiSystems have announced a joint offering for test automation of broadband access networks and equipment.

The joint offering combines QualiSystems TestShell framework and TraceSpan's Xpert analyzers. The combination is designed to enable end-to-end automation of broadband access networks and products testing in a way that reduces significantly the time from development, debugging, manufacturing and deployment of broadband access equipment.

TraceSpan's Xpert family includes multi-layer passive analyzers for GPON, VDSL2, ADSL2Plus, ADSL2, and ADSL technologies. DOCSIS analyzers will be integrated into the automated testing solution later this year.

QualiSystems says its TestShell is an end-to-end test automation framework that covers the entire testing cycle. While providing code-free test authoring, automatic test execution, advanced test management and test reporting and analysis, TestShell helps network equipment manufacturers and service providers in a variety of environments improve product quality, shorten time-to-market, significantly reduce capital and operational expenditures, and streamline compliance and audit trails, the company asserts.

The two companies say the integrated offering will enable engineering and QA departments to achieve higher yields, shorten repair times, and improve reliability. Broadband manufacturers and service providers can accelerate revenue generation and competitiveness by speeding up the introduction of new services and products to the market, the companies conclude.
