MARCH 15, 2007 --- EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. (search for EXFO) today announced the release of FastReporter, a single software tool designed to improve the post-processing, analysis, and reporting efficiency of its customers.
EXFO says its FastReporter, which replaces ToolBox Office R/T Pro, is an advanced management, analysis, and reporting tool for all types of optical tests, including optical loss, optical return loss (ORL), optical time-domain reflectometry (OTDR), polarization mode dispersion (PMD), and chromatic dispersion (CD). As all test results are acquired using different instruments, FastReporter consolidates the field-acquired test data of a fiber and enables single-view offline analysis through an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI).
Key post-processing challenges include analyzing hundreds of files at the same time, manually adding and deleting events in OTDR traces, integrating measurements from different instruments in a single report, customizing reports to particular specifications, handling long and complex reporting tasks, and many more.
FastReporter meets all of these challenges head-on with a number of post-processing functionalities, such as live templating for OTDR testing, powerful batch processing, ultra-fast bidirectional batch analysis, as well as other highly flexible reporting features, say company representatives.
"As the market and technology leader in the OTDR test instrument market, EXFO has always been very active in improving testing as well as reporting efficiency for its customers," contends Etienne Gagnon, EXFO's vice president of product management and marketing. "This latest post-processing and reporting software tool allows our customer to greatly save time while handling post-processing activities and reporting tasks that can be very tedious and time-consuming."
This latest software offering will be showcased at CeBIT 2007 from March 15-21, 2007, in Hannover, Germany. It also will be presented at OFC/NFOEC 2007 from March 27-29, 2007, in Anaheim, CA.
