The Model 8800 and 8200 Photonics Test System can be used for fiberoptic R&D, manufacturing, QA, and QC. The hardware platform includes plug-in modules and is complemented by an extensive software platform, enabling customer-specific test configurations. Plug-in instrumentation modules include a large selection of DFB, FP, and broadband stabilized light sources, free-space and fiberoptic power meters, and optical switches, as well as wavelength meters and a variable attenuator. This flexible platform is capable of automating industry-standard fiberoptic test procedures and Bellcore qualification tests.
