June 6, 2001--Sunrise Telecom Incorporated, a provider of service verification equipment for telecommunications and Internet networks, announces a dual wavelength optical transmitter option for the SunSet OCx.

Sunrise Telecom Incorporated (Nasdaq: SRTI), a provider of service verification equipment for telecommunications and Internet networks, announces a dual wavelength optical transmitter option for the SunSet OCx. Available on the SunSet OCx OC-48 configuration, the dual-transmitter option allows a user to order a single test set with both a 1310 nm and a 1550 nm wavelength transmitter.

The 1310 nm wavelength is primarily used for intermediate-range SONET applications, such as metro area networks, and the 1550 nm option is prevalent in long-haul, core network applications. The dual-transmitters allow one technician with one test set to test both types of optical networks.

The SunSet OCx is a complete transport and access network test unit ideal for field, lab, or central office use. The battery-powered test set has a light, durable chassis and a color LCD. It includes interfaces for DS1, DS3, and SONET testing up to OC-48c. The SunSet OCx performs not only physical layer and bit error rate testing, but also network qualification and service verification. Testing for ATM (up to OC-48c), Voice Frequency/DS0, ISDN Primary Rate, GR-303, SS7, and Frame Relay are all supported in the same handheld test set.
