The Lynx protection systems will provide Jiangsu Telecom with guaranteed protection of its critical DWDM backbone within less then 10 milliseconds of a link failure.

"Our backbone carries critical communication traffic and cannot tolerate any failures," explains Cao Shun Xiang, deputy director of Jiangsu Telecom. "We have been looking for protection systems that will provide the high level of network availability that our customers deserve. Lynx-Putian's LightLEADER systems, we believe, will meet these stringent requirements, and we anticipate great improvement in our service quality."

"Our sale to Jiangsu Telecom marks a major milestone in our penetration of the Chinese marketplace," adds Abe Queller, Lynx vice president. "This contract illustrates the increasing demand for optical protection-switching systems and the strengthening of Lynx's market leadership in this field."
