Caribbean cable operator Columbus International has reached a conditional agreement to be acquired by Cable & Wireless Communications. The proposed acquisition, valued at $3.025 billion, is intended to enable the combined company to accelerate growth, improve service delivery in the region (including Andean and Latin American markets), and strengthen its position against larger competitors.
Columbus provides digital cable TV, broadband Internet and digital landline telephony to a residential and corporate client base of more than 700,000 customers. CWC offers mobile, broadband, TV, domestic and international fixed line services in 16 countries throughout the Caribbean and Latin America, serving more than 5.6 million customers.
