MRV Communications (NASDAQ:MRVC) and Allot Communications (NASDAQ:ALLT) are demonstrating an SDN-enabled virtual CPE solution for bringing application awareness to service providers' access networks. Initiated and validated in Orange Labs, the proof-of-concept demo is taking place at the Layer 123 SDN & OpenFlow World Congress this week in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The solution combines a centralized traffic detection function (TDF), a programmable business CPE and an OpenDayLight SDN controller. The integrated platform is designed to initiate SLA enforcement at the customer premises and set per-application priority and dedicated bandwidth throughout the network.
