AT&T (NYSE:T) plans to expand its GigaPower network to Jacksonville, FL. The fiber network is designed for symmetrical Internet speeds up to 1 Gbps, as well as TV services with a five-tuner DVR with 1 TB of storage. Specific locations of availability and pricing have not been announced.

In other AT&T news, the telco is launching its U-verse high-speed Internet, TV and voice services in the Shreveport/Bossier, LA, area. The new services are part of AT&T's Project Velocity IP (VIP), which is intended to upgrade the telco's IP and mobile data networks. AT&T expects the wireline IP network to reach approximately 57 million customer locations by the end of 2015.
