Omnitron Systems Technology has launched the iConverter XM5 10G Network Interface Device (NID). The XM5 is designed to comply with MEF Carrier Ethernet 2.0 and provide 10 Gigabit and Gigabit service demarcation and aggregation for wholesale Ethernet, mobile backhaul, small cell, business and cloud services.
It features three 10G SFP+ or XFP ports and up to four SFP or 10/100/1000 RJ-45 gigabit ports, and is designed to function as a UNI or NNI. The XM5 can be deployed as a 10G ring node with aggregation ports for 10G and gigabit spoke links, or as a demarcation NID on a 10G access link with gigabit and 10G customer-facing ports for multiple tenants. It is available with redundant AC or DC power inputs, and id designed for temperature ranges from -40 to 75 degrees C.
