Korea

Alticast has developed a big data-based business platform for Korean cable operator CJ Hello. The platform will serve as the foundation for CJ Hello’s video service called “Alaska” and will introduce a new UI/UX to manage the overall media service operation.

The business platform will collect and analyze data generated during the service operation which CJ Hello will utilize for promotion and marketing. It will also provide functions such as content management, organization/settlement management, and promotion.

The Netherlands

24i Media, a streaming applications developer, has acquired Vigour, a multiscreen video platform provider. Both companies are based in the Netherlands. The acquisition is intended to enable the creation of an integrated set of flexible products for creating cross-screen, personalized Internet TV applications.

24i's module-based technology framework is designed to allow broadcasters, pay TV operators and media companies to create and launch personalized streaming services on all screens, tailored to their needs.

Uruguay

Montecable in Uruguay has deployed the Conax GO Live OTT multiscreen solution for its MC GO Live service. MC GO Live supports live TV channels and popular "play services" in Uruguay on iOS or Android mobile devices. It offers start-over, catch-up and trick-play with an electronic program guide (EPG). It also provides access to HBO GO, Fox Play and ESPN Play.

Conax GO Live pre-integrates Conax' Contego security platform and includes a content management system, analytics and white-label apps on iOS and Android devices. Contego works as a unified content security platform to handle both CAS and multi-DRM management from one back-end.

Additional system integration for the project was delivered by regional partner Bold MSS.

Belgium

Proximus in Belgium has selected VIAVI Solutions' (NASDAQ:VIAV) ONMSi Optical Network Monitoring System to test and monitor its expanding fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network at the build-out stage.

Proximus plans to use the ONMSi system to ensure the fiber network is qualified according to Proximus standards, performs reliably during rollout, and reduces the mean time to repair (MTTR) once the network is live. The ONMSi system operates 24/7 to provide remote fiber network testing, improving reliability and productivity.

VIAVI is also supporting the second phase of FTTH rollout and installation, proactively detecting and locating fiber degradation, and alert the operator with the details of faults from a central office using VIAVI's OUT-8000 Optical Test Unit, which combines optical time-domain reflectometry (OTDR) and optical-switch technology.
