Google Fiber (NASDAQ:GOOG) has launched signups for its gigabit-capable fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) service in San Antonio, beginning with Westover Hills and the West End Park neighborhood. Signups in the first neighborhoods are open until Dec. 21. The company is continuing to extend the network to more of the city.

Gigabit service is $55 a month with no installation fee, contracts or data caps. In other Google Fiber markets, the service typically costs $70 a month. As announced in October, the San Antonio deployment does not include video service and focuses in Internet only.

Customers who sign up for Fiber can add YouTube TV at the same time and will receive an NVIDIA SHIELD TV streaming device with a voice-activated remote control powered by Google Assistant, and a free trial of YouTube TV. After the free trial, YouTube TV is $35 per month. The service also includes a Google WiFi router.

Google Fiber, including WebPass (MDUs only), is currently deployed in parts of 19 markets, most recently in Nashville. The company also recently announced that its service is available in more than 3,000 apartment and condo communities in its Fiber cities.
