AT&T (NYSE:T) has launched its AT&T Fiber gigabit-capable Internet service in parts of the Milwaukee metro area, including parts of Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, Waukesha and surrounding communities. The company plans to expand the FTTH service into parts of West Allis in the future.
"Our customers are increasingly interacting with their world in more data-intensive ways," said Scott T. VanderSanden, president of AT&T Wisconsin. "A growing number of people are streaming content directly from their devices, and interacting with family and friends through live videos. For these reasons, we're bringing our fastest internet speeds to Milwaukee area communities powered by AT&T Fiber."
Internet-only pricing for the gigabit tier, AT&T Internet 1000, starts at $80 a month with a 12-month commitment. After 12 months, the price moves to $119 a month. Double and triple play bundles including video and/or voice services are also available.
The company also says the service will be available in parts of five new metro areas by the end of February, for 51 total. In addition to Milwaukee, the new markets include Columbia, SC; Jackson, MS; Knoxville, TN; and Shreveport, LA.
AT&T plans to reach at least 12.5 million locations in 67 metro areas with the fiber network by mid-2019.
