Pico Digital will be providing live demonstrations of its CONDOR set-top box platform and headend broadcast system and PD1600 headend in a box at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2014 in Denver. The company will also be highlighting its latest HD and SD encoders during the show.
The CONDOR platform is designed to allow cable providers to convert to all-digital while enabling the addition of new services over time with Pico Digital's middleware.
The PD1600 ultra-compact headend in a box is designed to provide functionality of a traditional multi-rack headend 5RU for use in hotels and other hospitality venues. It's designed for content in QAM, IP, or analog NTSC format, as well as free over-the-air channels to be added locally.
Also on display will be Pico Digital's PD1000 HD encoder modulation system and SDQ6 six-channel SD encoder and QAM modulator. The 1RU encoders are designed for integrated support for EAS and closed-captioning, plus PSIP virtual mapping of each channel.
