Aurora Distributes Access Architecture
Aurora Networks announced its Distributed Broadband Access Architecture solution for cable and broadband operators. The solution is intended to provide operators with the ability to preserve their existing infrastructure investment and leave room for future innovation. The new architecture, featuring Aurora's Node QAM technology, is designed to extend the digital headend domain out to the fiber-optic node. The digital-RF interface is migrated from the headend to the node, carrying digital content to the node using baseband optics and distributing QAM modulation to the nodes. It's intended to deliver any mix of services - broadcast, narrowcast, cable IPTV and DOCSIS - in the same QAM channel.
