Sumitomo Debuts Jacketed Ribbon Connector

Sumitomo Electric Lightwave announced the expansion of its Lynx2 CustomFit Splice-On Connector product line to include a jacketed MPO ribbon splice-on connector. It's intended to address the growing network migration from 10 Gbps to 40 and 100 Gbps.The new small form factor connector is designed to provide the same performance for insertion and return loss as factory MPO/MTP connectors. It's also available in the media types and polishes required for low loss and standard single-mode and 62.5 µm, 50 µm, and 50 µm laser optimized gigabit multimode fiber types.
