Blonder Tongue to Highlight HD Encoders
At Cable-Tec Expo, Blonder Tongue Laboratories will conduct live demonstrations of its most recent encoders. The HDE-CSV-QAM is the company's first single-channel encoder and is designed to accept one HD/SD video program from component, composite, HD/SD-SDI, HDMI, and VGA inputs. The input program is then MPEG-2 encoded into an SPTS (Single-Program Transport Stream), which can be output simultaneously as 1xQAM, IP (10/100baseT Ethernet), and ASI. Three encoders fit in 1RU. The sister product, HDE-CHV-QAM, is identical in application and performance, except that it does not support the SDI input. The HD264-2S-IP is the company's first H.264 encoder. It is designed to receive up to two HDTV programs from two unencrypted HDMI, two HD/SD-SDI, and two component inputs. The two input programs are then H.264 or MPEG-2 encoded into two SPTSs for simultaneous output in IP (10/100baseT Ethernet) and ASI.The HDE-4S-QAM is designed to receive up to four HDTV programs from four HD/SD-SDI and four component inputs. The four input programs are then MPEG-2 encoded into four SPTSs or two MPTSs for simultaneous output in QAM (four adjacent channels), IP (GigE/1000baseT Ethernet), and ASI. The sister product, HDE-2H/2S-QAM, is identical in application and performance, except that it supports two HD/SD-SDI, two unencrypted HDMI, and four component inputs.
