The new TDR features an 800 x 400 pixel backlit WVGA color LCD display with user definable tones, as well as directional control buttons and soft keys. It also includes an auto setup mode designed to determine the impedance of the cable under test, set the unit accordingly and select the optimum gain and pulse width. If necessary, the auto function can be manually overridden.
The TDR2010 also features Megger's Xpert mode for identification of faults. When the Xpert key is pressed, the unit automatically adjusts the range and gain, while positioning the cursor to the first major fault on the cable. Pressing the Xpert key again moves the cursor to the next detected disturbance. It also offers dual trace and dual cursor capabilities.
The unit's trace tagging function is saved into Megger's TraceXpert software; 100 trace memories can be saved into the unit's trace storage for later recall. Results can also be downloaded to a computer via the unit's USB port.
