The expansion will bring fiber services to cities in West Florida.

LiveOak Fiber, a regional broadband service provider, is dedicating a $40 million investment to expand fiber-based broadband services to Walton County, Florida.

With this venture, LiveOak Fiber will springboard digital infrastructure in Walton County. This strategic investment will support the local economy and provide high-speed internet access to businesses and residents, catalyzing growth and innovation for cities like Defuniak Springs, Freeport, Seaside, and Grayton Beach.

“LiveOak Fiber is dedicated to constructing a more reliable and connected digital infrastructure that empowers the residents of Walton County,” said Steve Smith, Chief Revenue Officer of LiveOak. “Our investment underscores our commitment to enhancing connectivity, fostering innovation, and providing high-speed internet access that paves the way for a more digitally inclusive community."

The service provider has begun early engineering and fielding work. Sticking to its commitment to engaging with the communities it is building out service, Randy Weinberger, VP of strategy and capital Planning, will provide comprehensive updates on the project's progress over the coming months.

Walton County is just one stop on LiveOak Fiber’s Southeast fiber connectivity. Besides Walton County, the service provider has been lighting fiber broadband in other parts of Florida, including Shalimar, Florida.

It is also making progress in expanding its presence in Georgia. In February, LiveOak announced it was acquiring ATC's network assets. This company built high-speed fiber network services for medical and business communities throughout Glynn and Camden Counties in Georgia.

LiveOak invested $60 million to construct and operate a next-generation high-speed fiber optic network in Glynn County, Georgia. These network investments will bring alternative options to underserved regions, ensuring access to affordable and reliable digital infrastructure for businesses and residents in the area.
