Liberty Networks Germany is a 50/50 joint venture with independent private equity firm InfraVia Capital that will provide gigabit broadband services under the helloFiber brand.

Liberty Global has established a subsidiary in Germany devoted to fiber-based broadband services provision.

Liberty Networks Germany is a 50/50 joint venture with independent private equity firm InfraVia Capital that will provide gigabit broadband services under the helloFiber brand using fiber to the home (FTTH) infrastructure.

Liberty Networks Germany and helloFiber will launch in Petershagen-Eggersdorf, Brandenburg, where the company expects to reach more than 7,000 homes and businesses with FTTH/FTTP in the next two years.

The partners announced their intentions to form such a joint venture this past September.

With Liberty Global’s experience running German cable MSO Unitymedia as a foundation (Liberty Global sold Unitymedia to Vodafone in 2019), the company believes it is well positioned for a successful launch.

“With Liberty Networks Germany, we are now focusing on pure fiber roll out looking at cities in areas not served by gigabit. The aim is to quickly create opportunities for individual fiber connections as a reliable partner for municipalities,” said Robert Dunn, managing director, connectivity investments at Liberty Global.
