Services to reduce energy consumption in the home, guidelines for energy management in cable facilities and a roadmap for the introduction of standards for the management and availability of power within the network will headline energy-related exhibits of CableLabs and the SCTE at the NCTA's Cable Show 2012 in Boston next week.Displays at CableNET and presentations in Imagine Park will include light sleep modes for cable set-top boxes, cable-delivered smart home services and other offerings, as well as the new "SCTE Energy Management Recommended Practices for Cable Facilities" and a timeline for standards that are designed to reduce power and increase service availability for new network equipment.
