The AFL NOYES FOCIS PRO family of automatic fiber inspection solutions is an automated solution for analyzing and documenting fiber connector cleanliness and integrity. The subjective aspect of fiber inspection is removed, AFL says.
Diamonds judges noted that MSOs deploying more EPON services need next-gen fiber inspection and analysis tools and that the NOYES FOCIS PRO looks to be a "more reliable and more user friendly solution for field personnel than current laptop-based solutions." This will make it more likely that operators will document and record data, which will lead to a "more robust and reliable network," judges said. The system includes the DFD1 Touchscreen Tablet, the DFS1 Digital FiberScope, and SimpleView PRO software. In less than five seconds, the software can center a fiber image and identify critical core, cladding, adhesive and contact zones while detecting and tallying defects. A zoom/pan feature allows users to identify the smallest particles, scratches and imperfections.www.aflglobal.comSee them at Cable-Tec Expo, Booth 1200Return to the BTR Diamond Technology Reviews Elite.
