The American National Standards Institute has approved several SCTE standards.ANSI/SCTE 82 2012, "Test Method for Low Frequency and Spurious Disturbances," defines and measures low frequency and spurious disturbances caused by switched mode power supplies or other active devices in cable equipment.ANSI/SCTE 83-1 2012, "HMS Inside Plant Management Information Base (MIB) Part 1: SCTE-HMS-HE-OPTICS-MIB," provides the branch object identifiers for the headend optics MIBs within the SCTE HMS Headend subtree.ANSI/SCTE 132 2012,"Test Method For Reverse Path (Upstream) Bit Error Rate," defines a method of measurement for BER in the return path of active cable equipment. It is intended for measurement of 75-ohm devices having type "F" or 5/8-24 KS connectors.ANSI/SCTE 144 2012, "Test Procedure for Measuring Transmission and Reflection," is intended to determine the reflection at any port, or the transmission between any two ports of a properly terminated device, as measured across a frequency range of interest. The full standards are available at http://www.scte.org/standards/Standards_Available.aspx.
