Euro Pay TV Subs to Reach 140 Million by 2017
According to Digital TV Research, pay TV subscriptions for 95 operators across 25 countries in Europe will increase from a collective 96.2 million in 2007 to 140.9 million by 2017, led by UPC/Liberty Global (NASDAQ:LBTYA, LBTYB and LBTYK). The research house expects about a third of European ops to experience falling TV subscriber numbers between 2011 and 2017, mainly because of increased competition.
