Koncent receives patent for four-port circulator

The patent generally applies to optical communication systems. Koncent calls the patent "significant" for the company.

The patent describes a technology developed to provide an improved design for manufacturing a compact and economical fiber optical circulator. The company believes the resulting device will achieve low cross talk, high extinction ratio, and high isolation, while maintaining a competitive price.

The application for optical circulator is WDM and OADM transport systems.
