Nov. 15, 2001--Adept Technology Inc. has announced a strategic OEM agreement with Shibuya Kyogo of Japan. Per the agreement, the companies will partner to develop new high-precision photonic assembly solutions based on their combined expertise and automation technologies.

Adept Technology Inc. has announced a strategic OEM agreement with Shibuya Kyogo of Japan. Per the agreement, the companies will partner to develop new high-precision photonic assembly solutions based on their combined expertise and automation technologies.

The agreement with Shibuya is another step in Adept's ongoing strategy to address photonic manufacturing challenges worldwide, say company representatives. Shibuya's experience in developing and building standardized precision workcells, coupled with their eight years of experience with Adept software, controls, and robot systems an Adept system integrator, should enhance photonic solution offerings in the Asian market.

Founded in 1931, Shibuya Kogyo specializes in the supply of turnkey systems and custom-built machinery.
